Over the last handful of years, the San Francisco Giants have honored local heroes the Grateful Dead with special tribute nights that have featured the music of the band along with unique Giants/Dead-themed giveaways that have included bobbleheads, gnomes and tee shirts. Last year the club added a second night dedicated to the Bay Area rock act as they hosted a night exclusively dedicated to the band’s late lead-guitarist Jerry Garcia.

The San Francisco Giants have announced that they will once again host another Jerry Garcia Tribute Night at AT&T Park this summer which will take place on August 9, the 23rd anniversary of Garcia’s passing, when they are set to take on the Pittsburgh Pirates. The Giants have also revealed the tee shirt that will be available exclusively for ticket holders that night at the game. Designed by Jess Rotter the image nods to when Garcia and his bandmates Bob Weir and Vince Welnick sang an acapella rendition of the National Anthem at Candlestick Park on April 12, 1993.

Tickets for the Giants’ Jerry Garcia Tribute Night are currently on-sale now with a portion of the proceeds going to benefit The Rex Foundation. Check out the tee shirt design below:
