Ryan Adams Reveals ‘Heartbreaker’ Reissue With Live DVD & Shares Outtake

Singer-songwriter Ryan Adams will reissue a remastered edition of his 2000 debut solo album Heartbreaker on May 6 through Paxam Records (distributed by Caroline Records and Universal Music). A DVD showcasing never-before-seen live concert footage of Adams’ solo acoustic show at the Mercury Lounge in New York City in October 2000 will be included in the deluxe reissue.

Recorded over a 14-day period at Nashville’s Woodland Studios, Heartbreaker includes contributions from Adams on guitars, vocals, piano and harmonica; the LP’s producer Ethan Johns on drums and bass; Dave Rawlings and Gillian Welch on guitars and backing vocals and Wilco’s Pat Sansone on keyboards. The record originally issued by Bloodshot Records in September 2000 also features guest vocals by Emmylou Harris, Kim Richey and Allison Pierce.

Remastered from the original Woodland Studios sessions, Heartbreaker will be available as 180gm four-LP/DVD set and two-CD/DVD Deluxe Editions, as well as a 35 track digital release. The deluxe sets include several previously unreleased outtakes and demos, including the “Locked Away” outtake which can be streamed below:

The bonus DVD captures the full solo acoustic concert Adams played at The Mercury Lounge on October 20, 2000, including his first-ever cover rendition of “Wonderwall” by Oasis. Here’s a trailer for the box set and DVD:
