Rush pressed pause on their The Fifty Something Tour after bassist Geddy Lee was diagnosed with laryngitis and bronchitis. Shows slated for June 30 and July 2 at Dickies Arena in Fort Worth, Texas have been postponed and rescheduled to July 11 and 13, respectively.
Many fans had already arrived at the concert last night, when they learned about the postponement. The band confirmed the scheduling change on social media and at Rush.com around 5:30 local time, two hours before they were supposed to take the stage. Geddy Lee made it to soundcheck, where it became clear he’d be unable to sing.
Tickets for the original dates will be honored on the new dates. Fans unable to attend the rescheduled shows can request a refund through Ticketmaster.
Geddy Lee and guitarist Alex Lifeson launched The Fifty Something Tour on June 7 at Los Angeles' Kia Forum. The co-founding members of the band are joined by drummer Anika Nilles and keyboardist Loren Gold. The trek marks Rush’s first tour since 2015 and first since the death of longtime drummer Neil Peart in 2020.

To our fans,
We are deeply sorry to share that we must reschedule our June 30 and July 2 shows.
Geddy has been diagnosed with laryngitis and bronchitis. After being evaluated by his doctors, he has been advised that he needs additional time to rest and recover before returning to the stage.
This is incredibly disappointing for all of us. We know many of you have made travel plans and have been counting down the days to these shows. Please know this decision was not made lightly. After more than 50 years of touring, we’ve always believed that if we’re going to step on stage, we owe you the very best performance we can give—and right now, that simply isn’t possible.
We’re grateful to everyone involved for helping us quickly find new dates.
The June 30 show has been rescheduled for July 11.
The July 2 show has been rescheduled for July 13.
All previously purchased tickets will be honored for the rescheduled dates. If you are unable to attend, refund information will be available from your original point of purchase.
Thank you for your patience, your understanding, and for always standing with us. We look forward to seeing you in just a couple of weeks and appreciate your continued support while Geddy makes a full recovery.
Alex Lifeson also shared a video message about the postponements on Instagram. Watch the guitarist announce the disappointing news below:
