Rooster Conspiracy Announces San Francisco Debut
Guitarist Eric Krasno, bassist Reed Mathis, keyboardist Todd Stoops and drummer Jay Lane will bring their Rooster Conspiracy project west for this first time next month. Rooster Conspiracy will make their San Francisco debut at The Independent in San Francisco on July 26.
The roots of Rooster Conspiracy dates back to a January 2017 jam session featuring Mathis, Stoops, Krasno and Grateful Dead drummer Bill Kreutzmann that took place in Hawaii. Both prior Rooster Conspiracy performances featuring the current lineup consisted essentially of one, long jammed-out song. Reed, Todd, Eric and Jay worked verses of “Cassidy” within a 90-minute “Deal” last September at Brooklyn Comes Alive in New York City.
The quartet then wowed with an adventurous 70-minute “Terrapin Station” earlier this month at Unlimited Devotion: A Celebration Of The Grateful Dead on June 9 at Ardmore Music Hall in Ardmore, Pennsylvania. Rooster Conspiracy filled the “Terrapin” with many twists and turns yet never dove into any other song for more than a verse or two.
Rooster Conspiracy’s visit to The Independent comes on the night between Phish runs in San Francisco and Los Angeles. Tickets go on sale this Thursday, June 28 at 12 p.m. PT via Ticketfly.
