ROMP Festival Announces Initial 2017 Lineup

The 14th annual ROMP Festival is slated to take place June 21 – 24 in Owensboro, Kentucky. Organizers from the International Bluegrass Music Museum have revealed the initial round of acts appearing at Yellow Creek Park next year.
At the top of today’s announcement were Nitty Gritty Dirt Band, Punch Brothers, Los Lobos, Rhiannon Giddens and Yonder Mountain String Band. Additionally confirmed artists for ROMP 2017 includes Peter Rowan, Pokey LaFarge, Billy Strings and several others.
Free admission to the nearby International Bluegrass Music Museum comes included with ROMP Festival tickets. The museum will present several exhibits and screen a documentary film on bluegrass music’s first generation, including legendary bluegrass pioneer Bill Monroe. Those that attend ROMP are encouraged to bring their instruments to jam with others, including the fest’s performers. There will also be artist-led workshops on instruments, songwriting, clogging and flat-foot dancing, yoga and more. Head here for more information and to secure tickets.
