The Rolling Stones closed out a two-show run at Chicago’s Soldier Field last night with help from Lainey Wilson. The country star opened the night and dueted with Mick Jagger on “Wild Horses” at the home of the NFL’s Chicago Bears.
Lainey Wilson and her band launched the concert by performing an eight-song set. The 32-year-old Louisiana native went heavy on material from her 2022 album, Bell Bottom Country, and previewed the forthcoming Whirlwind with “Hang Tight Honey” and “Country’s Cool Again.”

The Rolling Stones began their set in typical tour fashion with a run of “Start Me Up,” “Let’s Spend The Night Together,” “Rocks Off” and Hackney Diamonds lead single “Angry.” Then, “Shattered” was performed for just the second time this year. The Some Girls cut won out in pre-show fan voting over “Out Of Control,” “Like A Rolling Stone” and “Live With Me.”
“We’d like to Lainey Wilson for [having] such a great opening set,” Jagger told the crowd following the “Shattered” performance. “Just as a really nice surprise, she’s gonna sing with us now.” Mick then asked Wilson, “What are we gonna do?” before Lainey responded “Dead Flowers!”
Mick Jagger wore a cowboy hat for the occasion. Lainey Wilson sported a cowboy hat of her own as well as a Rolling Stones varsity jacket. The singers traded verses on the Sticky Fingers country-rocker. Wilson and Jagger united with guitarist Keith Richards harmonize on the vocals.

The other surprise of the Sunday night show came at the end of Richards’ three-song run leading the band sans Jagger. Keith Richards fronted the tour debut of Some Girls gem “Before They Make Me Run.” The rest of the show played out in similar style to other tour stops with a classic-loaded tail end of the main set and Hackey Diamonds‘ “Sweet Sounds of Heaven” paired with “(I Can’t Get No) Satifaction” as the encore.

The Rolling Stones return to the West Coast next. Up first is a show in Vancouver on Friday before the band heads to Southern California for two nights in Los Angeles on July 10 and 13.
