Robert Walter’s 20th Congress is again featured in Aquarium Drunkard’s ongoing covers series The Lagniappe Sessions. The second edition of Robert Walter’s 20th Congress’ The Lagniappe Sessions features covers of songs by Grateful Dead, Paul McCartney, Roxy Music, Burt Bacharach and Gary Numan.

Keyboardist Robert Walter writes that he was turned on to Roxy Music by producer Shawn Everett while recording Mike Gordon’s latest studio album OGOGO. Bacharach and Numan each helped inform the writing and production RW2C’s upcoming new album Spacesuit, which is due on September 21. Walter deems the McCartney song “particularly strange” but notes he “love[s] the little sequencer pattern and the angular melody,” while the Dead cover is from 1999 during pre-production for the Money Shot album.
