Robert Plant and Alison Krauss released a new single featuring their cover of Bert Jansch’s “It Don’t Bother Me.” The track is the third and final preview of the pair’s forthcoming Raise The Roof studio album.
Raise The Roof arrives via Rounder Records on November 19. The 12-track album is Plant and Krauss’ second collaborative LP following 2007’s Grammy-winning Raising Sand album. T Bone Burnett produced Raise The Roof as he did Raising Sand.
Jansch’s “It Don’t Bother Me” served as the title track of the acclaimed folk musician’s 1965 studio album. “I’ve been a big follower of Bert Jansch’s work since I was a teenager, and of that whole Irish, Scottish, English folk style that has a different lilt and different lyrical perspective,” said Plant in a press release. “I was very keen to bring some of that into the picture.”
Plant and Krauss are joined on “It Don’t Bother Me” by guitarist Marc Ribot, drummer Jay Bellerose, bassist Viktor Krauss, pedal steel guitarist Russ Pahl, Los Lobos guitarist David Hidalgo and Jeff Taylor on doceola and Marxophone. Stream “It Don’t Bother Me” from Raise The Roof below:
