Oceans Calling Cancels Entire 2026 Festival As Nor’easter Threatens Ocean City

Oceans Calling Festival canceled its entire 2026 edition in Ocean City, Maryland, after tides, flooding and high winds prevented crews from safely continuing work at the festival site. The decision comes a day after organizers canceled Friday’s performances because weather and beach erosion had disrupted the build.

Organizers said the National Weather Service had reported a stronger nor’easter on a more westward track. “Following the advice of the National Weather Service and in cooperation with local public officials, we must make the difficult decision to cancel Oceans Calling 2026,” they wrote in a statement.

All ticket types purchased directly through Front Gate Tickets will be automatically refunded in full to the original payment method in as little as 30 days, organizers said. The announcement did not specify how tickets purchased through resale outlets would be handled.

The cancellation wipes out Saturday performances scheduled from Twenty One Pilots and Gwen Stefani, along with Sunday sets from Mumford & Sons, Matchbox Twenty and My Morning Jacket, among others. Friday’s lineup had included Dave Matthews Band and Hootie & The Blowfish.

Oceans Calling also canceled its planned inaugural edition in 2022 ahead of Hurricane Ian. The festival made its debut in 2023.
