Later this month, guitarist Rich Robinson will debut his new band The Magpie Salute featuring a number of fellow Black Crowes alumni. Keyboardist Eddie Harsch was one of the Crowes alumnus set to take part in The Magpie Salute, but sadly he passed away late last year. Robinson and The Magpie Salute have shared a video tribute to Harsch along with the song “Comin’ Home.”

Rich Robinson, will bring together two key former Black Crowes bandmates, guitarist Marc Ford and bassist Sven Pipien, as well as members of his own band, drummer Joe Magistro, keyboardist Matt Slocum and guitarist Nico Bereciartua to form The Magpie Salute. In addition, Rich has pulled together a fine cast of vocalists, including lead singer John Hogg (Hookah Brown, Moke), former Crowes singer Charity White, and two additional background singers, Adrien Reju and Katrine Ottosen for the new band.

The band emerged out of a series of gigs at Applehead Studios in Woodstock that saw Rich and his band accompanied by Marc and Eddie. Watch the tribute to Harsch and “Comin’ Home” from Applehead Studios:
