Report | Neil Young Orchestral Album Due In November

The posting on Forever Neil Young theorizes that Storytone is named after a vintage electric piano that is being used on the album. Back in March, Young told Billboard of his goal to make a symphonic record, “I’d like to make a record with a full-blown orchestra, live –a mono recording with one mic. I want to do something like that where we really record what happened, with one point of view and the musicians moved closer and farther away, the way it was done in the past. To me that’s a challenge and it’s a sound that’s unbelievable, and you can’t get it any other way. So I’m into doing that.”
Last week Neil Young fan site Thrasher’s Wheat compiled photos and information that leaked from Young’s recent recording sessions with an orchestra giving credence to the report that the new album is on its way. Hopefully we’ll soon find out what Neil has in store.
