Radiohead Releases Ninth Studio Album ‘A Moon Shaped Pool’

British rock band Radiohead have finally released A Moon Shaped Pool, the band’s ninth studio album and first since 2011’s The King Of Limbs via XL Recordings. The 11-track album was issued digitally today via iTunes and other online music retailers.
A Moon Shaped Pool features a number of songs Radiohead and Thom Yorke have performed live. The LP’s final track, “True Love Waits,” has been played by Radiohead 20 times over the past two decades. Both “Identikit” and “Ful Stop” were debuted by Radiohead during their last tour in 2012, while Thom Yorke previewed “Desert Island Disk” at a 2015 concert in Paris. In addition, Thom has played “Present Tense” a handful of times dating back to 2009.

Radiohead first teased today’s release last Saturday, when they sent mysterious mailers to some U.K. fans. Then, on Tuesday the band issued the stop-motion video for “Burn The Witch” with little fanfare. On Friday, Radiohead unveiled the video for their Paul Thomas Anderson collaboration “Daydreaming” and announced the album was coming today. It turns out “Burn The Witch” and “Daydreaming” are the first and second tracks on A Moon Shaped Pool respectively.
A physical release of is due on June 17, while a special edition containing bonus tracks is available for pre-order now and ships in September. Radiohead kicks off a World Tour at the Heineken Music Hall in Amsterdam, Holland on May 20 and will mix headlining dates and festival appearances.
