As reported Phish frontman Trey Anastasio made his debut on the long running public radio program A Prairie Home Companion on November 12. Anastasio performed with a band led by the show’s host, Chris Thile, at Ellie Caukins Opera House in Denver.
Trey played a total of five songs on the episode backed by Thile, vocalist Aoife O’Donovan, Rich Dworsky on keys, guitarist Chris Eldridge, Brittany Haas on fiddle, bassist Paul Kowert and drummer Ted Poor. In his first segment Anastasio led the group on Phish classics “Brian & Robert” and “Back On The Train,” while the second segment included unusual takes on “Water In The Sky” and “Miss You” as well as a cover of Leon Russell’s “Prince Of Peace” played in honor of the late musician. A Prairie Home Companion recently released professionally-shot video of “Water In The Sky” and “Miss You,” which joins previously shared footage of “Back On The Train.” Watch all three videos featuring Trey on guitar and vocals below.
