Pro-Shot Video: Widespread Panic Covers Tom Waits While Edie Jackson Interprets Sign Language

NBC’s Today recently broadcast a feature on Edie Jackson who has been a longtime sign language interpreter for Widespread Panic. Today, the Georgia rockers have unveiled a video from their recent performance in Charleston, South Carolina showing off Jackson’s handiwork.
In the video below Widespread Panic performs a cover of Tom Waits’ “Goin’ Out West” which has been a live staple for the band ever since they debuted the song in 1996. We get to see Edie interpreting the lyrics of “Goin’ Out West” and at the end WSP bassist Dave Schools says “Thanks for signing for the band tonight, Edie. It’s the only way we know what’s going on.”
