During his illustrious career, the late great musician Prince often worked songs written by other artists into his live performances. Not afraid to demonstrate his interpretation of a well-known song, The Purple One’s covers were often the stuff of legend even before his untimely death. Look no further than his epic halftime performance at Super Bowl XLI in which he dropped into Bob Dylan and Foo Fighters originals, or his absolute masterful contribution to The Beatles’ “While My Guitar Gently Weeps” at the 2004 Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame induction ceremony for examples of Prince’s impressive playing of other people’s music.

Professionally shot video of Prince performing another classic rock hit recently surfaced on YouTube. The clip showcasing a cover of Led Zeppelin’s “Whole Lotta Love” was uploaded on the day The Purple One passed away. As noted by Guitar World, the show featuring this Zeppelin cover performance likely came in 2002 or 2003 – probably in Las Vegas in 2002 – when Prince regularly worked the track into his setlists.
