On Friday night,Phish kicked off their first of three shows at Dick’s Sporting Goods Park in Commerce City, Colorado. Night one, of what has now become an annual Labor Day tradition for the band, was highlighted by a five-song, jam-heavy second set that saw the Phab Phour seamlessly work their way through “No Men In No Man’s Land” > “Carini” > “Ghost” > “Harry Hood” > “Cavern.”
The band has now shared pro-shot video of the second song of the second set – Carini, which they stretched out past the twenty-minute mark.
Here’s how our own Andy Kahn described the Carini in our recap:
More melodic twists and turns grew out of the ensuing “Carini” as once again an improvisation heavy on atmosphere emerged from an initially hard rocking start. And once again the amorphic jam ultimately propelled into a lengthy, ripping series of blissful peaks as the band blew past the 45 minute mark of the set.
