Grateful Dead bassist Phil Lesh will soon embark on a rare multi-city run with The Terrapin Family Band. Two of the group’s biggest performances yet took place this past August at the Lockn’ Festival in Arrington, Virginia. Pro-shot video featuring a highlight of the first set has surfaced.
On the Friday of Lockn ’17, Phil Lesh & The Terrapin Family Band played a set that featured a number of sit-ins including collaborations with Warren Haynes and Bob Weir. One of the tunes Warren guest starred on was the spiritual standard “New Minglewood Blues.” Guitarist Ross James handled vocal on the song that was sung by Weir with the Grateful Dead between 1966 and 1995.
