Pro-Shot Video Of Trey Anastasio New Song Debut At New Yorker Event

Phish frontman Trey Anastasio participated in an event at Acura at SIR Stage37 in New York City as part of The New Yorker Festival on October 2. Billed as “Trey Anastasio Talks With Alec Wilkinson,” Anastasio discussed his career with the writer amid playing a short solo acoustic set. The New Yorker recently shared professionally-shot video of one of the songs the guitarist played at the event.

Trey Anastasio gave a preview of his soon-to-be-released Paper Wheels LP at the New Yorker event by debuting the lone track off the LP never to be performed live, “Cartwheels.” Anastasio co-wrote “Cartwheels” with his longtime songwriting partner Steve “Dude Of Life” Pollak. Though the guitarist mentioned he’d probably perform the song on his Fall Tour with the Trey Anastasio Band, he didn’t play “Cartwheels” at either of the first two shows of the run Friday and Saturday at Kings Theatre in Brooklyn.
