Pro-Shot Video: Joe Russo’s Almost Dead ‘Bird Song’ > ‘The Other One’

On June 3, 2015 Joe Russo’s Almost Dead played a benefit concert for The Songs Of Love Foundation at the intimate Marlin Room within Webster Hall in New York City. The Grateful Dead tribute act continued its Rad Tracks series by unveiling professionally-shot video of a stellar portion of the show.
The 35-minute “Bird Song” > “The Other One” sequence found below came within the first set at The Marlin Room. Guitarists Scott Metzger and Tom Hamilton along with bassist Dave Dreiwitz, keyboardist Marco Benevento and drummer Joe Russo show why they’ve won raves from the likes of us and other Deadheads over the past few years as they take both songs deep. Next up for Almost Dead are a pair of performances at Paradise Rock Club in Boston November 27 and 28. The first show is sold out with the second likely to soon follow. In December, Joe Russo’s Almost Dead bring the tribute to Las Vegas (December 11), Oakland (December 12) and Denver (December 19). Following a New Year’s run consisting of New Year’s Eve in Philadelphia and January 1 and 2 in Port Chester. Then, Joe Russo’s Almost Dead makes their Jam Cruise debut.
