Pro-Shot Video: The Disco Biscuits Work ‘After Midnight’ Into ‘Spacebirdmatingcall’ In Philadelphia

Last month, The Disco Biscuits played three shows at The Fillmore Philadelphia in their hometown. The jamtronica quartet recently shared professionally-shot video featuring their 25-minute encore from the middle night of the run, April 20.

The Disco Biscuits began their 4/20 encore with a cover of J.J. Cale’s “After Midnight.” Guitarist Jon “The Barber” Gutwillig led the quartet on their second-ever version of the song, which was debuted by the band on April 15, 2015 at the Ogden Theatre in Denver. Gutwillig, bassist Marc Brownstein, keyboardist Aron Magner and drummer Allen Aucoin worked “After Midnight” into their own “Spacebirdmatingcall” via an impressive transition. The Biscuits patiently built the “Spacebird” jam to a frothy peak to end the night in Philadelphia.
