Macklemore Announces Free Palestine Tour With Dublin, Paris & London Shows

Macklemore announced the Free Palestine Tour, beginning with three October shows in Dublin, Paris and London. He said all proceeds will benefit organizations supporting Palestinians and the Palestinian movement.

The tour opens October 26 at Dublin’s 3Arena, followed by Paris’ Accor Arena on October 29 and London’s Wembley Arena on October 30. U.S. dates are also forthcoming.

In his announcement, Macklemore argued that artists should use their stages to support Palestinians and push back against what he described as attempts to silence that message. “What happened to me is bigger than one artist or one stage,” he wrote, referring to his removal from Ed Sheeran’s Loop Tour.

“So, as you all know, my schedule freed up a bit,” Macklemore added. He said he spent the past week contacting artists who have publicly supported Palestinians. With the tour assembled quickly, he said, the lineup and other details are still being worked out.

Loop Tour promoter Messina Touring Group said venues would not allow concerts with Macklemore on the lineup, while Gillette Stadium owner Robert Kraft cited what he described as antisemitic rhetoric and imagery. Sheeran said the decision was made by the promoter and venues, and that he had unsuccessfully sought a resolution.

Presales for the initial three dates begin Monday, September 28 at 10 a.m. local time. Tickets go on sale Wednesday, September 30 at 10 a.m. local time.
