Pro-Shot: Joe Russo’s Almost Dead Fits ‘St. Stephen’ Jam Within ‘Truckin”

Late last year Grateful Dead tribute act Joe Russo’s Almost Dead held a run of shows through Colorado that included a stop at the Ogden Theatre in Denver on December 15. Earlier this month the band devoted a Taper’s Tuesday column to unveiling official audio from the Ogden and today they’ve shared pro-shot video of a highlight from the evening as this week’s Rad Tracks Thursday offering.

The video below comes from the middle of JRAD’s first set on December 15 in Denver. At first, the group jams out for a little while before launching into “Truckin’.” Guitarist Scott Metzger handles lead vocals on the Bob Weir classic which features a particularly cool “St. Stephen” jam. After a reprise of “Truckin’,” the video ends with a jam based on the early Dead gem “Born Cross Eyed.”
