Pro-Shot Full Show Video: The Disco Biscuits Conclude 2018 Bisco Inferno Run At Red Rocks

Philadelphia-based quartet The Disco Biscuits concluded this year’s Bisco Inferno run in Colorado with a show at the iconic Red Rocks Amphitheatre in Morrison on Sunday night. The Disco Biscuits turned their first of two sets into a huge “Helicopters” sandwich and used “Mr. Don” as the centerpiece of the closing frame at Red Rocks.

Sunday’s show came after three nights of Bisco at the Ogden Theatre in Denver. Organ Freeman and Spafford opened for tDB in Morrison. Guitarist Jon “The Barber” Gutwillig, keyboardist Aron Magner, bassist Marc Brownstein and drummer Allen Aucoin kicked off last night’s first set with a version of “Helicopters” referred to as “Bionic Helix” featuring a composed section played often in 2002 and 2003 that the band revived last November in Denver. “Bionic Helix” led into “Korobeinki,” a Russian folk song used in the video game “Tetris” that the Biscuits first played as part of their video game-themed New Year’s Eve show on December 31, 2017. The first segment of the evening concluded with the ending of “Svengali.”

Brownstein welcomed the audience to Red Rocks before the band lit into rarity “The Tunnel.” The standalone “The Tunnel” was followed by a cover of J.J. Cale’s “After Midnight” that the Biscuits jammed into the end of “Helicopters” to bring the frame to a close. Sunday’s second set began with just the third version of “Rivers” since 2010. The quartet then unleashed a jam-filled “Mr. Don” segment that included expansive takes on “Tricycle” and “Orch Theme” within. Sunday’s second set ended with a 15-minute “Therapy” before the Disco Biscuits concluded the night and this year’s Bisco Inferno run with an “On Time” encore.
