Pro-Shot Full Show: Jason Isbell Live at House Of Blues Boston

By Andy Kahn May 8, 2016 9:58 am PDT

Touring in support of his multiple Grammy Award-winning album Something More Than Free, singer-songwriter Jason Isbell recently appeared with his band The 400 Unit for a performance at House Of Blues in Boston. Pro-shot video footage of the entire show has been made available and is the subject of this week’s Sunday Cinema viewing.

With Isbell on lead guitar and vocals, he was backed by fiddle player Amanda Shires, keyboardist Derry deBorja, drummer Chad Gamble, bassist Jimbo Hart and guitarist Sadler Vaden. The group mixed in selections from Something More Than Free and Isbell’s 2013 solo LP Southeastern with cuts from his contributions to Drive-By Truckers from his stint as a member of the Southern rock band and a few songs from 400 Unit releases as well.

Presented in visually captivating black and white and produced/directed/edited by Greg Shea, watch the full concert from February 27, 2016 posted by WGBH Music below:
