On Saturday night Prince met with reporters at his Paisley Park compound in Minnesota, where he revealed he’ll soon be embarking on a “Piano & A Microphone” solo tour of Europe and the U.K. El Pais reports (via CoS) The Purple One’s first-ever solo piano tour will hit 16 cities in total.

The dates for the tour haven’t been confirmed as after Prince met with reporters the journalists were told the dates they received were “proposals” and “not yet signed.” El Pais reports the paper was told the tour would begin at the Konzerthaus in Vienna on November 21 and finish at the Royal Circus in Brussels on December 22. “Why do this now? For several reasons. For starters it is a challenge. I do not want to have bad reviews, but not back to what I’m sure I can do because I’ve done for 30 years. You have to try new things. With the piano it is more naked, more pure. You can see exactly what you get,” reads a translation of El Pais’s quote from Prince.

One of the promoters helping to run the tour told El Pais the dates will take place in Denmark, Norway, Sweden, Britain, The Netherlands, Switzerland, Italy, Germany, France, Austria, Belgium and Spain. Stay tuned for a full and confirmed list of dates.
