‘Prince & The Revolution: Live’ Concert Film Coming To YouTube

The 1985 concert film, Prince & The Revolution: Live, will be available to stream on YouTube for a limited time. The Prince Estate will make the film available on YouTube from Thursday, May 14 at 7 p.m. CT through 11:59 p.m. on Sunday, May 17.
Prince & The Revolution: Live features footage recorded at Prince’s Purple Rain Tour stop on March 30, 1985 at the Carrier Dome in Syracuse, New York. The film initially came out on VHS and LaserDisc in 1985, with a DVD version included in the 2017 deluxe remastered edition of Purple Rain. Audio from the concert film, remastered by engineer Bernie Grundman, will be released to download and streaming services this Friday, May 15.

The Prince Estate, in partnership with YouTube and Google, will raise funds during the livestream event for the COVID-19 Solidarity Response Fund for the World Health Organization (powered by UN Foundation and Swiss Philanthropy Foundation). Google will match $2 for every $1 (up to $5M) donated during the event.
Andrea Swensson of Minnesota Public Radio station The Current will host a pre-show Q&A with Revolution drummer Bobby Z on Thursday at 6 p.m. CT. Watch the livestreams below:
