Pretty Lights Announces New Year’s Run And Shares ‘Rainbows & Waterfalls’ Video

Derek Vincent Smith, aka Pretty Lights has unveiled a new track based on a classic funk single. Pretty Lights also detailed this year’s New Year’s Run, which now will feature four performances.

Pretty Lights’ 2017 New Year’s Run will begin with a pair of shows at The Fillmore in Detroit December 28 and 29. Too Many Zooz will kick off the action on the 28th, with SoDown to support on the 29th. Smith then heads to Minneapolis for a performance at Snowta on December 30. The run concludes on New Year’s Eve at The Fillmore in Philadelphia. Jade Cicada has been tapped to open on December 31.

Today Pretty Lights unveils “Rainbows & Waterfalls,” an impressive track using Shuggie Otis’ 1971 classic “Strawberry Letter 23” as its foundation. Smith’s new tune is Pretty Lights’ first release in well over a year.
