Premiere | Pigeons Playing Ping Pong – Zydeko

Up-and-coming jam act Pigeons Playing Ping Pong are gearing up for the July 3 release of a full-length studio effort dubbed Psychology. The had already shared the first single off the album –“F.U.” -and today we’re pleased to premiere the second single off the new LP.

“Zydeko” is a funky, guitar-propelled six-minute excursion showing off the skills of each member of the quartet. We have a feeling the band’s devoted legion of followers, referred to as “The Flock,” will really enjoy the studio of the live staple. “We wanted Psychology to capture our live energy, yet still sound like a refined and fluid studio album. We added horns, gongs, bird sounds and other new elements to make for a fun and dynamic musical experience,” guitarist Greg Ormont shares about the band’s first studio release in four years. Pigeons Playing Ping Pong will celebrate the release of Psychology at the 9:30 Club in Washington, D.C. on July 3. Tickets are are available now for the album release party, which also features Cabinet and B Side Shuffle.
