Phish/Talking Heads/Pink Floyd tribute act Pink Talking Fish closed out their spring tour with a hometown show at the Paradise Rock Club in Boston on Saturday night. The capacity crowd saw the band joined by Trey Anastasio Band drummer Russ Lawton and Giant Country Horns members Dave “The Truth” Grippo and Carl “Geerz” Gerhard at various points of the evening.

PTF continues to expand their repertoire beyond material from the three core acts mentioned in their name. On Saturday, they fit the Allman Brothers Band’s “Whipping Post” within “Divided Sky” to start the evening. The group then strung together Talking Heads’ “Uh Oh, Love Comes To Town” with Pink Floyd’s “The Happiest Day Of Our Lives” and “Another Brick In The Wall, Part 2.” A version of “Limb By Limb” by Phish broke up parts two and three of “Another Brick In The Wall.” After a raucous “Psycho Killer” and tender “Us & Them,” PTF was joined by Lawton on drums and Grippo on cowbell for “Sand.” Russ wrote the music for “Sand” along with Trey Anastasio and Tony Markellis.

Saturday’s second set saw the group offer their take on Little Feat’s “Time Loves A Hero” to start. Next up were renditions of Talking Heads’ “Cities” and “Mother” by Pink Floyd. Grippo and Gerhardt then emerged to add to Phish classics “Cavern” and “Julius.” Pink Talking Fish continued on with “Life During Wartime” before fitting “Carini” into “Pigs (3 Different Ones).” The band ended the frame with “Once In A Lifetime” and encored with “Harry Hood.”
