As reported, Pink Talking Fish will soon return to the road with a new guitarist in tow. Guitarist Cal Kehoe will join bassist Eric Gould, keyboardist Richard James and drummer Zack Burwick in the Pink Floyd/Phish/Talking Heads tribute act starting this Thursday at Club XL in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. Gould spoke with JamBase about Cal.

“We are very excited to welcome Cal Kehoe as the new guitarist for Pink Talking Fish. Cal is an awesome spirit who is able to model the guitar sounds of all three acts while still maintaining his own unique sound. This is the essence of a PTF Musician,” Eric told JamBase. “Cal has joined us for a few rehearsals now, and the jams we have been getting into are exploratory and playful as he takes us into the next chapter of PTF!”

Before PTF, Cal has been a resident artist at multiple venues, he toured the country many times over as a solo act displaying his fantastic looping skills and has performed and sat in with multiple acts and jam veterans. Music fans may have even seen him performing at venues like SPAC and Great Woods on side stages during Phish shows and other summer concerts. Kehoe’s most recent release, an EP entitled Symptomatic Holiday features collaborations with long time friend and Phish lyricist, Tom Marshall. The guitarist has co-written original music with Tom and has performed in Marshall’s The Amfibian All-Stars project.

“’Limbo’ was a lot of fun…at the core it’s a guitar song and Cal rips it wide open! Cal is one of the best guitar players touring today,” Marshall said of Kehoe. Check out the full list of Pink Talking Fish dates below.
