Pigeons Playing Ping Pong Mash Up The Revivalists & Miley Cyrus Songs In Boulder

Pigeons Playing Ping Pong concluded a two-night run at the Boulder Theatre in Boulder, Colorado on Saturday night. The jam-funk quartet unveiled a mashup of The Revivalists and Miley Cyrus songs.
Pigeons Playing Ping Pong kicked off their Boulder Theatre finale with a three-song sequence of “Hell Yeah,” “Move Like That” and “Offshoot.” PPPP then jammed out “Sail On” past the 12-minute mark. Next, the quartet took “Kiwi” out for a 15-minute excursion which flowed into “Penguins.”
Pigeons then unfurled their “Wish I Knew Flowers” mashup, featuring a funky combination of The Revivalists’ “Wish I Knew You” — from the NOLA rockers’ 2018 album Men Amongst Mountains — and Miley Cyrus’s “Flowers” off the pop star’s new album Endless Summer Vacation. PPPP closed out the first set with the original “Moonwalk,” which boasted a new ending.
Pigeons launched the second set with a standalone “Twitch” before going seamless for the rest of the frame on “Somethin’ For Ya,” “Feed The Fire,” a “Drums” encompassing “Upfunk”, “Spacejam” “The Hop” and “F.U.” For the encore, PPPP fit their instrumental cover of The Beatles’ “Eleanor Rigby” within “Skipjack.”
