Pigeons Playing Ping Pong, Andy Frasco & The U.N. and Dogs In A Pile teamed for a joint tour in Spring 2024. PPPP shared a video of a collaborative cover of Ween’s “Roses Are Free” from the trek.
PPPP, Frasco + The U.N. and Dogs In A Pile kicked off their 6-date triple threat tour on May 24 in DIAP’s hometown of Asbury Park, New Jersey. The May 31 gig containing “Roses Are Free” at Perinton Center Park Amphitheater in Rochester, New York — the city where Phish debuted their cover of the Ween favorite in 1997 — marked the penultimate show of the tour.

PPPP guitarist Greg Ormont and DIAP guitarist Brian Murray handled lead vocals on the “Roses Are Free” cover with Frasco initially working the cowbell. The explosive jam saw Frasco moving to keyboards alongside DIAP’s Jeremy Kaplan amidst fretboard fireworks from PPPP’s Jeremy Schon, Murray, DIAP’s Jimmy Law and the U.N.’s Shawn Eckels.
If Perinton Center Park Amphitheater had a roof, U.N. saxophonist Ernie Chang would have blown it off with his jam-ending sax solo. Watch Pigeons Playing Ping Pong, Andy Frasco & The U.N. and Dogs In A Pile convene for “Roses Are Free” below:
