The New Mastersounds wrapped a two night stand at The Independent in San Francisco Friday night. The quartet led by guitarist Eddie Roberts returned to the city he once called home for the pair of gigs at the intimate Bay Area venue. Getting to the first night was an ordeal as the band’s bus broke down in the mountains of Colorado and they had to be shuttled to an airport to make it to San Francisco in time for the show which included a sit-in by the West Coast Horns. Earphunk was on hand to open both nights, and photographer Susan Weiand was there Thursday to capture the action on stage.
