On Thursday Widespread Panic played their third of four performances at this year’s installment of Panic En La Playa at the Hard Rock Hotel in Mexico. Thursday’s first set had an old school feel with classic originals “Disco,” “Tall Boy” and “Little Kin” and fan-favorite covers of Neil Young’s “Walk On,” Traffic’s “Low Spark Of High-Heeled Boys” and Funkadelic’s “Red Hot Mama” among the song choices. Last night’s second set featured diverse choices ranging from the instrumental “B of D” to Brute’s “Protein Drink/Sewing Machine” to newer material such as “The Poorhouse Of Positive Thinking” and “Saint Ex.” Widespread Panic closed out the show with a “Porch Song” > “Blackout Blues” encore.
