Phish Announces July 28, 2017 ‘Chocolate’ Show For ‘Dinner And A Movie’
Phish announced their July 28, 2017 concert — the Chocolate show from the Baker’s Dozen — at Madison Square Garden in New York City for the next Dinner And A Movie. The show will air on Tuesday, July 28 (three years to the day the Chocolate show went down) at 8:30 p.m./5:30 p.m. PT.
The Chocolate show kicked off with Phish debuting Tay Zonday’s “Chocolate Rain” a cappella (save for Page using a midi controller). The concert also included the Phish debut of Hot Chocolate’s “You Sexy Thing” as well as Trey Anastasio changing the lyrics to an encore opening “Fee” to “have a chocolate donut and catch your breath.”
The beneficiary for the webcast is Doctors Without Borders/Medecins Sans Frontiérès (MSF). “DWB provides emergency medical care to millions of people caught in crisis in more than 70 countries around the world,” as per Phish.com. “Their teams are responding to the coronavirus emergency on multiple fronts — caring for patients, offering health education and mental health support, and providing training for vital infection control measures in health facilities around the world. MSF is working with local authorities in many of the countries where they already have medical projects to help prepare for the impact of COVID-19. This pandemic threatens the lives of people around the world, and presents even greater risks in countries with weak or fragile health systems. In honor of the Baker’s Dozen classic, Trey shares the Federal Donuts recipe for the Double Chocolate Donut handed out at the Chocolate show. The renowned Philadelphia donut shop is also famous for its Fried Chicken sandwiches and that recipe is included as well. Additionally, Phish.com shared a vegan option from NYC’s Superiority Burger.
