Watch Phish Perform Monster 22-Minute ‘Fuego’ At Greek Theatre In Berkeley

Phish posted official video of the wild “Fuego” from Tuesday's show at Berkeley's Greek Theatre. The 22-minute version of the title track to their 2014 studio album took place during the second set at the quartet’s second of three Spring Tour 2023 concerts at the historic Bay Area venue.

“Fuego” emerged out of the extended “Kill Devil Falls” that followed “Don’t Doubt Me” to start Tuesday’s eight-song second set. After Phish made it through the composed section of the tune, the adventure began. JamBase contributor Ben Greenfield described the ambitious Berkeley “Fuego” is his recap of the concert, noting:

The single best sign that Phish is feeling it is when they start jamming in weird places. And the end of the Greek “Fuego” illustrates this perfectly. As a feisty version of the song wound down, the band didn’t simply move to the next song; instead, they luxuriated in the quiet, settling into a brilliant twinkling ambience that somehow snaked its way into an evil march, embracing a beautiful darkness as the song passed the 20-minute mark.

Phish would get back to jamming pretty quickly after “Fuego” melted into “Light.” The show also featured a +23-minute “Bathtub Gin” late in the first set.
