The second annual Philly Music Fest will feature Philadelphia-based artists performing at three venues in the City Of Brotherly Love between September 27 – 30. Johnny Brenda’s, World Café Live and Milkboy will each host multiple acts over the course of the nonprofit festival’s four nights.

“After last year’s success, we’re excited to be able to expand this year’s festival to two new independent music venues—Johnny Brenda’s and Milkboy,” said festival founder and curator Greg Seltzer in a statement. “The core of our mission is to assist and promote local musicians and donate proceeds to local music education charities. But we’ve expanded the scope of our mission to include active support for independent venues — they’re the backbone of our city’s thriving music scene.”

The action starts at Johnny Brenda’s on Thursday, September 27 with sets from Pissed Jeans and Soul Glo. World Café Live will host performances on its two stages simultaneously on Friday, September 28 and Saturday, September 29. Waxahatchee, Low Cut Connie, Vita & The Woolf, Louie Louie, The Mysteries, Secret American and The Whips are aboard for Friday with The Districts, Ruby The Hatchet, Palm, Hardwork Movement, Kingsley Ibeneche, Levee Drivers, Orion Sun, Hurray, End Of America and Man About A Horse set to play World Café Live on the Sunday of the festival. The Philadelphia Music Festival concludes with a jazz showcase at Milkboy on Sunday.

Tickets are on sale now via the festival’s website. Last year’s event raised approximately $15,000 for such music education programs as Settlement Music School, Rock to the Future, Musicopia, CAPA, Live Connections and Play On Philly.
