Phil Lesh Teams With Robinson, Krasno, Russo & More At The Cap

Last night marked the first of two shows from an interesting Phil Lesh & Friends lineup at The Capitol Theatre in Port Chester, New York. Lesh teamed with Chris Robinson, guitarists Eric Krasno and Neal Casal, drummer Joe Russo and keyboardist Adam MacDougall for the third (and tonight’s four) shows of the Grateful Dead bassist’s 10-show residency at the historic venue.

Lesh, Russo, Kraz and the three members of The Chris Robinson Brotherhood rolled through two sets and an encore heavy on Grateful Dead live repertoire classics. Chris Robinson handled the vast majority of lead vocals throughout the evening with the exceptions of Phil leading the way on “Half-Step” and “Box Of Rain” and Casal fronting the group for “Playing In The Band.” Lesh utilized his new Alembic bass, MacDougall added to the show with his variety of vintage synths and pianos, while Krasno and Casal split lead guitar duties. The same ensemble that played on Friday night returns to The Cap tonight. Nugs.TV is serving up a pay-per-view webcast.
