Pearl Jam Covers Hendrix And Play Slew Of Tour Debuts

A whopping eight of the 35 songs Pearl Jam played last night were tour debuts. Early in the show, the band dusted off “In My Tree,” which they had last performed on July 4, 2012. Towards the end of the main set, Eddie and the band dropped a string of three tour debuts in a row: “Grievance,” “Glorified G” and “The Fixer.” Vedder and his mates weren’t done with rarities as the show moved into the encore segment. Pearl Jam unearthed Backspacer track “The End” and Riot Act’s “Thumbing My Way” to start the encore with a pair of tour debuts. The 11-song first encore also included a rare take on “Sad.” Yet the biggest surprise ended the show, when Pearl Jam delivered just their 11th-ever full-on cover of Jimi Hendrix’s “Little Wing” since 1995 and first since October 28, 2009.
