Renowned singer-songwriter Paul Simon will release Seven Psalms, his first album of all-new music in seven years, on May 19 via Owl Records and Legacy Recordings. Seven Psalms consists of seven movements spanning a total of 33 minutes intended to be heard as one continuous piece.

The concept for Seven Psalms came to Simon in a dream back in January of 2019 as he revealed in a trailer for the album. “Gradually, information would come” as he began putting the album together. “This whole piece is really an argument I’m having with myself about belief … or not,” Simon added in the behind-the-scenes video.

The iconic musician’s last album was the 2018 re-recorded rarities collection In The Blue Light. Simon issued 11 completely new songs two years prior as Stranger To Stranger. On Seven Psalms, Paul Simon went acoustic and performed nearly all the music. The forthcoming LP features choral elements from British vocal ensemble VOCES8 and a guest vocal appearance by his wife, Edie Brickell. Seven Psalms was produced by Paul Simon and Kyle Crusham.
