Paul McCartney shared a pro-shot clip of “Helter Skelter” featuring Gronk and Bobby:
Also, a video shooting one of the video screens during Weir’s appearance on “Hi, Hi, Hi” has surfaced:
Worlds collided on Sunday night, when a member of The Beatles shared the stage for the first time with a a member of the Grateful Dead. Paul McCartney brought out Bob Weir for a two-song sit-in at Fenway Park in Boston.
Weir, who had just finished two shows of his own at the famed ballpark with Dead & Company, emerged towards the beginning of the encore for the Wings classic “Hi, Hi, Hi.” Bob and Macca shared an embrace before Weir asked “how many people were here last night?” The Dead guitarist added his signature rhythms and backing vocals to “Hi, Hi, Hi.”
McCartney then brought out New England Patriots tight end and local legend Rob Gronkowski to dance on stage during a wild “Helter Skelter.” Rob also sang a line of the White Album classic which was only played by Macca one other time this tour, when he performed “Helter Skelter” with Nirvana’s Krist Novoselic in Seattle. Bobby was content to add rhythm guitar work to “Helter Skelter.”
