Greensky Bluegrass hosted the inaugural Camp Greensky Music Festival at the Hoxeyville Festival Grounds in Wellston, Michigan this past weekend. The band helped put together the lineup and one of the acts they invited to perform was The Wood Brothers. Paul Hoffman of GSBG sat-in with The Wood Brothers during their Friday afternoon set on “Luckiest Man.”
Hoffman has led Greensky Bluegrass on a cover of “Luckiest Man” over a dozen times in the last four years. The Wood Brothers’ Oliver Wood mentioned as much at the start of the song on Friday. Oliver noted how honored the trio is that GSBG performs their song to which Hoffman added, “We’re pretty honored to play it too” before asking the crowd to give The Wood Brothers a round of applause.
