Pathway To Paris will host a concert featuring vocalist Patti Smith, Red Hot Chilli Peppers’ bassist Flea and others in Los Angeles on September 16 at The Theatre at the Ace Hotel. The special event coincides with the conclusion of the Global Climate Action Summit in San Francisco.
In addition to Smith and Flea, the musical lineup includes Yeah Yeah Yeahs vocalist Karen O, The Animals’ frontman Eric Burdon, Tibetan musician Tenzin Choegyal, French vocalist Imany, and Pathway to Paris Founders Jesse Paris Smith and Rebecca Foon. Skateboarding legend Tony Hawk will also be part of the concert event that will include speeches delivered by 350.org’s Bill McKibben and others as well as Steven Sebring presenting an immersive sound and visual art experience.
The same group of musicians, with the addition of Grateful Dead/Dead & Company guitarist Bob Weir, will hold a Pathway To Paris concert at the Masonic in San Francisco on September 14. The initial Pathway to Paris concerts were held in Paris in 2015 to coincide with the signing of the Paris Agreement. The Los Angeles event is meant to “focus on the potential for cities to push for, achieve, and go beyond the climate targets highlighted in the Paris Agreement” and all proceeds will benefit Pathway To Paris. Tickets go on sale Friday, July 20 at 10 a.m. PT via AXS.com
