Old Crow Medicine Show Reunites With Willie Watson In St. Louis

Old Crow Medicine Show kicked off a run of concerts featuring support from former and co-founding member Willie Watson last night in St. Louis. Watson sat-in with OCMS at various points of their show at The Pageant.

Willie Watson left Old Crow Medicine Show in 2011 to focus on his solo career. Watson is fresh off the release of a self-titled studio album, his first of original material.

Old Crow Medicine Show treated fans in St. Louis to a career-spanning performance. Watson made his first appearance of the headlining set about halfway through to join his old bandmates for covers of Alvin Robinson’s “Down Home Girl” and the traditional “Hard To Love.”

Willie Watson returned to the stage with Old Crow Medicine Show for guest appearances on the last six songs of the evening. The multi-instrumentalist lent a hand on a sequence linking the traditional songs “Fall On My Knees” and “Tear It Down” before the collective closed out the headlining set with fan-favorites “We’re All In This Together” and “Wagon Wheel.” Watson was also on hand for an encore of “My Bones Gonna Rise Again” and “The Weight.”

Old Crow Medicine Show and Willie Watson continue their time on the road together tonight, November 21 at the Val Air Ballroom in Des Moines, Iowa. The run concludes on Saturday night in Iowa City.
