Nicholas Payton Guests With Dave Matthews Band In Kansas

All summer long the Dave Matthews Band has been joined by guests at nearly every show ranging from Bela Fleck to Warren Haynes to John Popper. The latest guest to sit-in with the band was famed trumpeter Nicholas Payton, who joined the group last night at Cricket Wireless Amphitheater in Bonner Springs, Kansas.

Payton came out towards the middle of DMB’s electric second set to help on “The Dreaming Tree,” “Jimi Thing” and “Captain.” The latter hadn’t been performed since July 17, 2013 -a span of 122 shows. Backing vocalists the Lovely Ladies continue to tour with Dave and the band as they sang on “Save Me,” “Write A Song,” “Burning Down The House” and “Everyday” during the second set. DMB had one more treat in store to end the show as they dusted off “Pig” for the first time this tour.

Dave Matthews Band summer tour continues tonight in Maryland Heights, Missouri.
