Newport Jazz Unveils Stacked 2023 Lineup Featuring JRAD With Kamasi Washington & More
The 69th Anniversary installment takes place August 4 – 6 at Newport’s Fort Adams State Park.

The Newport Jazz Festival is back at idyllic Fort Adams State Park in Newport, Rhode Island August 4 – 6. The stellar 2023 lineup is topped by Thundercat, Jon Batiste, Vijay Iyer, Herbie Hancock and Diana Krall as well as a tantalizing collaboration featuring Joe Russo’s Almost Dead with Kamasi Washington.
DJ Pee .Wee (Anderson .Paak), Soulive, Big Gigantic Does Jazz, Christian McBride’s Jam Jawn, Samara Joy, Scary Goldings featuring John Scofield, DOMi & JD Beck, Big Freedia and Charles Lloyd New Quartet are also among the dozens of acts set to play Newport Jazz. Additionally, Kamasi Washington will play a set of his own, while Superblue will feature Kurt Elling and Charlie Hunter with Nate Smith and Huntertones Horns.
Another highlight on the bill is A MoodSwing Reunion featuring Joshua Redman, Christian McBride, Brian Blade and Brad Mehldau. More artists will be added to the lineup soon.
