New To YouTube: Phil Lesh & Phriends Night Two From 1999 Featuring Trey & Page

By Scott Bernstein Oct 10, 2016 12:25 pm PDT

Earlier today we reported on full show video of the first Phil Lesh & Phriends show from April 1999 at The Warfield in San Francisco surfacing for the first time and apparently there was more where that came from. A complete video recording of Grateful Dead bassist Phil Lesh’s April 16, 1999 show with Trey Anastasio and Page McConnell of Phish as well as Steve Kimock and John Molo has surfaced.

On Night Two the five-piece was joined by Grateful Dead vocalist Donna Jean Godchaux for a portion of the second set and the encore. The show was highlighted by a fantastic “Help On The Way” > “Slipknot!” > “Franklin’s Tower” sequence, a spacey cover of Pink Floyd’s “Wish You Were Here,” Kimock’s stellar playing on “Stella Blue,” a euphoric “Bertha,” a wild “St. Stephen” > “The Eleven” and glorious “Scarlet Begonias” > “Fire On The Mountain.”

Thanks to YouTube’s Kevin Tobin and all involved with sharing these wonderful treats. Watch Phil Lesh & Phriends’ April 16th performance:

In other Phish-related news, the band has announced a webcast of Sunday night’s show in Jacksonville, Florida. The webcast is currently available for pre-order now via
