Neil Young Shares 28-Minute ‘EARTH’ Track Exclusively On TIDAL

Veteran rocker Neil Young will release a new LP EARTH via Reprise Records on June 17. Today, Young has made a 28-minute track from the album available exclusively on the TIDAL streaming platform.

Originally recorded on Young’s 1990 album Ragged Glory, the nearly half-hour long version of “Love And Only Love” released today was culled from a live performance on last year’s Rebel Content Tour with Promise Of The Real – as were the rest of the album’s selections. Young added musical overdubs and sounds of the earth – car horns, insect and animal noises – to the 13 tracks making up the record. The result is one-continuous recording, described by Young like this:

Ninety-eight uninterrupted minutes long, EARTH flows as a collection of 13 songs from throughout my life, songs I have written about living here on our planet together. Our animal kingdom is well represented in the audience as well, and the animals, insects, birds, and mammals actually take over the performances of the songs at times.

Download pre-orders of EARTH are only available through Young’s high-definition music service Pono, while vinyl and CD versions will also be sold by retailers. Young recently made his entire catalog available to stream on TIDAL and you can stream the album closing “Love And Only Love” on the service via this link.
