Neil Young Announces ‘Mountaintop Sessions’ Excerpt Premiere

This October, Neil Young & Crazy Horse will issue a new studio album entitled Colorado and a film entitled Mountaintop Sessions documenting the making of the 10-track LP. Young will offer a preview of Mountaintop Sessions via his Neil Young Archives website this Wednesday, August 28.

Neil Young Archives includes the “Hearse Theater,” where subscribers can view films and videos shared by Young. The Rock & Roll Hall Of Famer recently posted a schedule for what will air in the Hearse Theater over the next two weeks and Wednesday’s video will feature an excerpt on the making of Colorado track “Milky Way” from Mountaintop.

Last week, Young posted a note on NYA announcing the forthcoming documentary which he mentioned will be released at 100+ theaters around the world the same week in October that the album comes out. “It is a wild one folks, no holds barred. You will see the whole process just as it went down! Worts and all!,” Young wrote of Mountaintop Sessions. “I don’t think a film about this subject with the openness and intensity we have captured has ever been seen.”
