Neil Young will no longer embark on a 2026 European Tour later this year. The Love Earth Tour with Young’s band, The Chrome Hearts, was slated for this coming June and July.
Young’s message announcing the tour’s cancellation stated a need to “take a break.” The brief statement did not provide additional information on the motivation for backing out of the shows.
“I have decided to take a break and will not be touring Europe this time,” Young explained. “Thanks to everyone who bought tickets. I’m sorry to let you down, but this is not the time. I do love playing LIVE and being with you and the Chrome Hearts.”
Neil Young & The Chrome Hearts sees the 80-year-old Young joined by guitarist Micah Nelson, bassist Corey McCormick, drummer Anthony LoGerfo and acclaimed keyboardist Spooner Oldham. Elvis Costello & The Imposters were lined up to support select dates of the now-canceled run.
The Love Earth Tour, which included a few festival appearances, would have launched on June 19 in Manchester, England. The itinerary continued into July with stops in France, England, Scotland, Ireland, Wales, the Netherlands, Belgium, Switzerland and Italy.
